If you are not aware, our good friend and fellow host Shyaporn is starring in Brent Black's brand new show KHAN! The Musical and, as crazy as it sounds, has got us unreasonably excited! Not least because of Shy's participation!
Shyaporn has been acting and performing in various productions for many years now, many YouTubers may recognise some of his work such as Star Trek (In 47 Seconds) and 500 Impressions (In Two Minutes). But that's not all, he recently appeared as guest roles in hit productions such as The Flight Attendant, acting opposite Michelle Gomez and Power Book III: The Book Of Kanan.
Needless to say when he broke to us that he got the part of Kirk no less, we were over the moon! What an absolutely amazing fit! If you've ever seen his renditions of Kirk in our Table Reading segments (click this link to watch, do it now!) you'll know he has a refined take on the character that transcends the usual Kirk, talking...weirdly...trope. Even Director Brent Black applauded him during auditions stating his admiration for how Shyaporn respected the character and embodied the manner in which Shatner portrayed the character.
Now I've finished over praising our colleague, if you are in the New York area, or have the capacity to travel there in the next month you can see this show from May 4th till June 4th at The Players Theatre in New York City.
